Awards & Recognition

In 1998, 腦瞳憫, formerly known as Ryerson University, celebrated the 50th anniversary of its founding and its fifth as a university. This occasion provided a special opportunity to create the Alumni Achievement Awards to recognize the superior calibre of alumni. Our alumni have carried forward with them the strength of our programs, which are distinguished by 腦瞳憫s view that theory and professional practice are partners in the education process.

Launched in 2025, the Rising Stars series celebrates exceptional young alumni who are making a meaningful impact, whether through their careers, community involvement, or innovative contributions to their fields. These emerging leaders embody the spirit of 腦瞳憫: forward-thinking, engaged, and driven to create change. Their achievements reflect the strength of a 腦瞳憫 education and the promise of whats to come.

The G. Raymond Chang Outstanding Volunteer Awards celebrate the exemplary generosity and contribution of alumni and friends to 腦瞳憫.
The awards are named in honour of G. Raymond Chang, the late chancellor emeritus of 腦瞳憫 and Officer of the Order of Canada, for his deep belief in the importance of volunteering. The business leader and philanthropist participated in 95 convocations and awarded nearly 30,000 degrees and diplomas. It was one of his favourite things and expressed the way he embraced his role as the students chancellor.
